Who we build for
Most of our work is for homeowners who have outgrown the house they like living in. A kitchen that cannot hold the family at once, a bedroom short, a garage full of things nobody uses, a roof space doing nothing. Moving costs a great deal of money in fees and stamp duty and gives you somebody else's compromises. Building gives you the room you actually need in the road you already chose.
Parker James Developments is run by Wayne Nolan from Hednesford, Cannock, and has been trading as a family business since 2013, with forty years of building behind it. That length of experience matters most on the parts of a job you never see, foundations, drainage, steelwork, junctions with the existing structure, because those are the parts that cost the most to put right later.
What we specialise in
We concentrate on structural home improvement rather than general maintenance: extensions, orangeries, conservatories, loft and garage conversions, kitchens, internal and structural alterations, plus the architect's drawings, structural calculations and the plumbing, heating and electrical work each project needs.
Where we work
We work out from Cannock across Staffordshire and the West Midlands, including Cannock, Solihull, Birmingham, Lichfield, Stafford, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Stoke-on-Trent, Telford and Derby. Keeping to a defined patch means the team is on site when it says it will be, and that materials and deliveries are not being dragged across the country.

Drawings before decisions
Architect's drawings and structural engineer's calculations are prepared before pricing, so the estimate describes a real design rather than a guess made on a doorstep.
One team, one point of contact
Groundwork, structure, glazing, plumbing, heating and electrics are coordinated on one programme by Wayne, so you are never left chasing separate trades.
Written, itemised estimates
You can see what is included and what is not, which makes comparing quotes an exercise in fact rather than instinct.
Building control handled
We submit and deal with building control through the build, and tell you early when something on site changes the programme.
Guarantees and cover
Structural work is covered by a 10-year insurance-backed guarantee with QANW (Quality Assured National Warranties), so the cover stands behind the building itself rather than only behind a promise. We also carry £2,000,000 public liability insurance for the duration of every project.
Our glazing work uses Pilkington glass, and we build to Secured by Design principles where the specification calls for it.
